Investment Planning
Recent changes in pension law show that the Federal government expects employers to play a leading role in moving from a defined benefits (pension) based retirement funding system to one based on defined contribution plans such as 401(k). Employees may now be automatically enrolled into 401(k) plans unless they affirmatively opt out. This places a heavy responsibility on employers to ensure that their work force has access not only to quality investment opportunities as a cornerstone of their retirement funding, but also to unbiased information which will help employees make appropriate decisions about their self-directed accounts. At Wales Investments Inc., we are committed to helping you select the best funds to fuel your employees' retirement goals, and to creating an investment policy to clarify the suitability of each investment selection you make available to participants in your Plan. We will create an Investment Policy Statement specific to your company's needs, which will protect you in your role as Trustee of the Plan, as well as help to explain the components of your Plan to the participants. A crucial tool in Plan administration, the Investment Policy Statement creates focus and context for your Plan, while protecting the interests of participants and trustees alike.
